Monica and Jimmy’s wedding in Michiana, Michigan, was a beautiful mix of vintage charm, timeless elegance, and laid-back Lake Michigan romance. From their portraits among the trees to the classic car, the day had a nostalgic feel that was made for film photography.
Some of my favorite images were the black-and-white portraits I captured with my 70-year-old Rolleiflex camera, using 120 medium-format film. These completely analog photographs have beautiful depth, rich tones, and an heirloom quality that feels like stepping back in time.
The celebration continued with a reception at lakeshore supper club, it was the perfect complement to the romantic, vintage feel of their wedding day.
As a Grand Rapids-based Michigan film wedding photographer, I love capturing weddings that feel this personal, relaxed, and full of character.
